Another animation. I'm not sure if I am putting these in the correct category, I don't see an animation one so I guess Misc will do. :) This animation was done using my own poses in front of a mirror, so the timing I think came out better.. It's easier to animate what you see with your eyes than what you want to see in your head. :/

This animation is in Quicktime (MOV) format and you'll need the QT PLayer to see it.

Ive always been an admierer of form and movement and animation. I envy your priviledges. I suppose If i really tried I could make my own on my comp with the aid of my scanner...
I like the grace in the large final swoop, and the flow of the fingers. It was the wonderful squiggle of the tail that compeled me to comment though. I adore it. gah!

Heehee thanks! No envy needed, just a little practice. I am not all that great at animation, but this one came out so well because I did it all from real life - watching myself int he mirror really helped a lot. Try it, you'll get great results.

Subtle movements can express incredible amounts.
Excellent work, really makes me want to get into animation as well.

Thanks, dv! Hope things have been going good for you, it's been a while since hearing from you. Yes, animation is fun, if you can get over the monotony of the frame drawing. I find it's easier to get into it when posing in a mirror, instead of trying to grab frames out of one's head. I hope that if you do get into animation you enjoy it, with your talent you would certainly kick some serious ass!

Leks you are such an amazing animator. I've never seen anything look as fluent and clean as this one from an artist I know personally. You are going to go so far.

it really works and is fun to watch!
maybe, if you are considering doing a second pass, try fiddling with the timing with some slow ins and slow outs, notice how all the movements are really evenly spaced? you have some really nice strong poses that should have a few more frames added to them so that they get appreciated more.

also, maybe try to streghten the first pose, his sillowette is hard to read untill he kicks his leg out.

(OMG i acually learned something in cartoon college!)

but yeah, i like it, =p yay animation!

Yes, actually that is something I have specifically noticed about my animation. I was going to insert some more hold frames, especially at the part where his arm is fully extended for a moment or two.. The reason it seems so constant in motion is because I was looking at another artist's animation - I printed out each frame of others' animations and counted the frames that remain the same in the printout - an average of 3 per hold - and animated this off of that average. After I made it I realized that I do need to add additional hold frames, and when I get around to it I will do so. Thanks for your advice jojo, it really does help and will attribute your comments to help make my next animation better. :)

Thanks again, Magnus! I'm glad to hear that, because if I didn't inpire other artists, then my Life's mission would go unfulfilled. :) Not that you need any inspiration, mind you - you seem to have a darn good amount of it yourself and I'm sure that one day soon I will be saying how I knew you in the old days too, when your work is on the cover of some magazine or in a production of your own. I really do wish you the best and I beleive with all my heart that you're on the that Path as well.
