Say "meow" to the good life
Say "ciao" and "no thank you" to the blues,
Though a crossroad lies before you
Make your choice and make the best of what you choose.

Say "meow", and even should life
Be rough as it can be,
It's a bumpy but a GOOD life....
And that's good enough for me.

One of my most favorite cartoon characters from childhood, Pelle Svanslös - or as we Americans affectionately call him, Peter No-Tail - jamming with his friend, Lester the Friendly Viper and one of his sax-tooting rat buddies. :)

Seriously, I think I watched that movie a million times when I was a kid. I had forgotten about him until recently, until I managed to acquire another copy of the movie - I watched it again, and was instantly re-saturated with some of the happiest memories I ever had.

... And for those who have no idea what I'm talking about, here is a link from Youtube (it's from the Swedish version, I can't find any English version clips):

For the non-bilingual folk, here's a summary - essentially, Peter is made fun of by the other city cats, and while feeling sad he is confronted by Lester, who calls him a cat without a tail - but Peter retaliates by telling Lester he's a tail without a cat. This causes Lester to start laughing so hard, he ties himself into a knot - and kindhearted Peter helps him out, making Lester a friend for life.

(No offense to the original Swedish version, but I really like the English one better - I think it had more character, with voice talents like Ken Berry and Dom DeLuise, who really brought the characters to life and gave them a comedic and lovable edge).

Yes - the English version was on VHS here in the states way back in the 80's; however, since then it has become pretty darn scarce (they never released it on DVD, at least not here that I can find), and the VHS tapes are really hard to find. I ended up getting one off Ebay by mere chance, and it was the same exact type I had as a kid... the same company who released it and everything.. even the old, oversized poofy white VHS case as I remember from the video store way back when. The video quality is pretty poor since it's so old, but still watchable. The sequel is even more rare - I can't find any trace of it anywhere. :(

It's great to know you know Peter too!

I'm a cartoonist.
But mine art isn't politic. ;)

I totally thought I imagined this cartoon as NO-ONE remembers it! Good on you for drawing this wonderfully affectionate fan-art. This could be a book cover :aww:
