I haven't been feeding my watching Korn fans recently, and I'm feeling terribly guilty over my blatant neglect. Actually I'm not at all; I was just bored and drew a little half-inch thumbnail sketch on the corner of a paper I was supposedly doing something else on.. I liked the exact flow of the thumbnail so much that I scanned it, blew it up, printed it back out, traced it onto Bristol at a much larger size and inked.

I had a particular style of art in my head at the time I drew this, the ebb-and-flow kind of style that is seen in old-century children's books and Arthur Rackham- sort of illustration.. The same sort of feel that inspired the Wrestling the Demon series. An almost Arabian Nights sort of storybook whimsy, which is just a nice contrast to the hard edged side that's usually seen of them, and one that isn't totally unrealistic considering Jonathan's delving into medieval and magickal cultures - or so the story goes. Actually the image I have in my head is nothing like this one; but it's difficult to breach my own seal.
