Anonymous Admiration
Who are you, my friend?
Where do you come from?
What is it that brings your beautiful light
To this darkened corner of existence?
These are the things I want to say,
But words will only get in the way,
And fall a mile short
Of my every intention.
'Turn away', I say inside.
For if defection overrides,
All will end in tragedy,
Leaving us unfulfilled
And dying from living.
So, out of love for something more,
I simply acknowledge you
With all my love and respect,
Watching silently
As you shine your wonderful light all over.
And if I'm lucky, maybe I can catch a handful of your sunshine.
